Acer: “The Little Things”
How do you position a sustainable product in a crowded marketplace?
You target sustainable people.
Designit was tasked with launching Acer’s new Aspire Vero laptop, a symbol of the company’s mission to promote a more sustainable lifestyle. With features like a recycled plastic body and 100% recyclable packaging, the device is impressive yet had competition in the marketplace. We needed to find a way to make Acer’s new product stand out in a sea of similar specs and materials.
We decided to not just promote the product, but also inspire a sustainable lifestyle.
Our research showed that many consumers were already striving for sustainability. With the audience actively seeking sustainable products, we saw the opportunity to position the Aspire Vero as a device that gives consumers a way to invest in a greener tomorrow. Building our creative brief around this idea allowed us to fit the Aspire Vero seamlessly into the consumers’ idealized lifestyle. Messaging frameworks were developed to connect throughout the full life cycle of the consumer journey—from awareness of the Aspire Vero as an eco-friendly choice all the way through to purchase and advocacy.
Designit created a campaign called “The Little Things” with assets across broadcast, display, social media, and Spotify audio. Each showed consumers how Acer’s device provides another opportunity to live a greener lifestyle. We demonstrated that Acer not only builds sustainable devices but also is working to build a more sustainable future.
